The journey continues!

         Prince of social networks

I am who I am

While many celebrities prefer to keep to themselves and just randomly share information with their fans , Cape Town born Kiernan Jordan Forbes widely known as AKA has mastered the art of using social mediums such as Twitter and Facebook to interact with his fans and let them in on what's happening in the wold of the self-proclaimed 'Prince of rap'. Aka has taken it upon himself  to make sure that interacting with his fans is done effectively and it remains a priority. Not only has his use of social media given him the platform to give his fans first-hand information but he controls the level of accuracy of whatever the public receives. Although AKA remains an open book many people still perceive him as arrogant and self-centred. But is it that he is arrogant or is his elf-pride too massive for people to handle?

    Is the beef still sizzling?

Many fans were left in awe and disbelief  when things started heating up between two of the best rap artists, Refiloe “Cassper Nyovest” Phoolo and Aka on Twitter.  It is expected for people who work in the same industry and are in the same music genre to have conflict however when it gets to a point where the two cant even be invited to perform at the same venues due the violence that was reported at the Live studios, where does one draw the line? It's good to know that both has put their differences aside and decided to focus on their music.

Baby mamma getting big in the stomach?

The happy couple
Social network have really simplified the communication process haven’t they? Just the other day AKA uploaded a picture of a doctor with a screen showing a baby scan in it. Was that perhaps his way of informing fans that he will soon be a daddy? Well, it makes sense that he is linked to the picture because he and long –term girlfriend Dj Zinhle had previously kept their relationship under raps but recently, they revealed each other identities. Well as his song goes, we CONGRATULATE, him hopefully fatherhood will treat him well.

Undoubtedly AKA’s use of social media network works in his favour because it has not only increased his number of fans but it also hooks his “so called haters “ who are constantly striving to interact with him one on one by commenting on his twitter/ status updates every chance they get. With the above mind, it is quite clear that in this digital age, social media networks have a very powerful role in not only gaining one follower but it goes a long in influencing the public and changing their perception about many things they seem not to understand

  2. Thank God the beef between him and Cassper is over because it really damaged his reputation and portrayed him as a violent and negligent person.

    1. Besides being violent, it also portrayed him as being weak and unable to handle competition. Let's hope that now that they have put their differences aside, they will focus on making music and not fighting over petty things.

  3. I personally think that the beef between AKA and Casper was simply a publicity stunt that blew off at their faces, but nonetheless I am glad it has been put to bed. As a hip hop artist, one has to have an EGO of some sort so I don't blame AKA for it. In fact I think he is very brave because he knew people wouldn't stop talking about it and you've got to admit that's genius. He really does know how to work the public. For me AKA still reigns Supreme. I mean, people still listen to his hits, Kontrol, Bang to name a few. Casper makes commercial music which won't last 2-5 years because it has little/no meaning at all. The beef between these two was much needed so that artists can come up with lyrically-meaningful content. And AKA delivered in Levels 100%. Casper is just the new kid in the block making noise. How long will it last? that is the question.

    1. Indeed it could have been just that considering the fact that the whole thing was built entirely on who produces the best music and rules the hip hop genre. Well I'm not sure about Cassper being just the new kid on the block but there is massive competition between the two and hopefully there will not be any BEEF after Cassper won the Metros. How will he will last in the music industry is unpredictable but hey, the awards don't lie!!

  4. I agree with Yanelisa Catcy, the conflict between two young men was just a way for them to draw attention to themselves.
